Khan Academy Kids

Image
Khan Academy Kids is an incredibly comprehensive, engaging, ad-free, no cost, award winning education app. It was created by education experts to align  with the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework and the Common Core Standards. Every core subject is addressed, including social-emotional skills. As a parent, you create you and your child's account, which takes only a few minutes. After that it's smooth sailing. The program creates individualized experiences based on how children perform on the activities. This means built in differentiation, which is just fantastic. We can not recommend this resource enough.  Click here to access Khan Academy Kids

Epic!

Reading, and being read to, are fundamental to building a firm academic foundation. Both are also just a great way to feed curiosity and spend time. Many of you are familiar with MyOn. Epic! is very similar, but has a different collection of books. It provides a massive digital library every one of our students has access to for the remainder of the school year. Thanks to their generosity in the face of Covid-19 closing schools, the site is costing us nothing. Simply click below and then enter the code provided by your child's teacher.  Click here to access Epic!

ABCYa is a free website filled with colorful games for PreK up to 5th grade. Activities are wide ranging, easy to understand, and appropriately challenging. The site was founded by a public school teacher back in 2004. It's been a favorite of students at P.S. 106 for years. There is a "Premium" version of the site that is ad-free and grants complete mobile access, but that requires a monthly subscription.  Click here to access ABCYa
